![]() Again, be sure that the replacement matches what you need. It could also be loose wires, either on the time clock terminal board, or on the timer motor. Oddly, I tested one of the 208 clocks and it seemed to run where it didn't before (which is why this all started). I wired one clock correctly and it didn't run, so I guess I fried it. They are also rated by amperage and voltage. Why is my Intermatic timer not turning on If power is reaching the clock, but the motor gears are not turning, that usually means either something is jammed in the gears (I once found a gecko tail), or the timer motor has burned out. The two timers I bought at the Depot had 110V clocks, whereas the originals had 208V. There are indoor and outdoor rated enclosures so be sure to get the one that is correct for your application. If you search around that website, you may be able to find something that looks like it missing in yours and help you out. Intermatic is a very common brand and a simple on off with no extra bell or whistles would be a model T-101. You should have a make and model number on the timer. Mark all the wires and install just as it is. Just be sure to turn off all electricity going to the timer before starting. Timers such as that are relatively inexpensive and not difficult to install. If not, then something is missing or broken. I removed the timer dial and sprayed contact cleaner and moved switch back and forth. Now, The pump is always on and I have to switch the breaker to turn pump off. The GFCI tripped at the breaker so I assume there was a short with the water. It should move the part on the back plate each time one of the screw bobs go passed it. I left my Intermatic Timer open during a rainstorm and now the manual timer on off switch does not work. You should be able to do this and have the screw bobs run passed the tabs. How you typically change the time of the clock is to pull the face forward and rotate. I bought and installed a replacement timer with no improvement. If both screw ma jobbies are still in the same place as always, it sounds like either the back end of the on screw or the tab it strikes is bent or broken. When My intermatic t101 turns the pool pump off, it also turns the clock motor off. If you look closely (generally at about the 4 or 5 o'clock position on a clock face) there are a couple of tabs that those screw ma jobbies will hit as they are rotated passed. Those small screwed on metal clips (trippers) are used to set the time for it to turn on or off. This type of timer is generally quite simple. If I need it serviced do I call an electrician or a pool company? I wanted to manually rotate the dial and see how the OFF is being activated and see what is happening to the ON, but I think if I loosen these parts I might not be able to put it together again. If it is turning off automatically and on time, that means the timer is running and the wheel is functioning, right? That's why when I was gone for two weeks and came back my pool is now emerald green.yuck.Īny advise on what I should look for? I am not sure the mechanics of the timer, I assume the metal clips catches the manual latch to turn things on and off? There are two metal clips (ON and OFF) screwed onto the big metal dial wheel, they are in the positions they have always been, yet for some reason it's not turning the pump back on. The problem is it WILL turn off but will not turn back on. ![]() a 3rd component which appears to be the 4 function switch itself which is what I think both the timer-switch and air-switch act upon. a component to which the air tube from the air switch is connected to 3. I have it on at 10am and off at 6pm everyday. The timer mechanism (contains the clock and the manual timer switch which the trippers act upon). The timer itself seems to work, I mean I see the metal gear assembly inside turning slowly.
